• Title: Moving into high gear for the City of Toronto

    The Challenge

    Many organizations were cutting down on activities in the first COVID-19 lockdown of 2020. But for the City of Toronto cycle-sharing program, the pressure was on to ramp up fast.
    Staffworks was contracted by the City to help expand urban bike-sharing – at high speed. The City asked us to provide a team of cycle-minded employees who could assemble and distribute new bike-sharing stations and bicycles.

    Result
    Staffworks was proud to quickly provide a team of 15 employees who reflected the client’s energetic, committed, fun culture. Staffworks people played a critical role in fulfilling two key municipal initiatives for the City of Toronto:

    1. The ActiveTO program, aiming for a healthier and more active urban population.
    2. The expansion of a sustainable alternative transport system.

  • Title: Immediate need for customer service staff

    The Challenge

    Our client was experiencing an accelerated volume of high-stakes inbound calls – customer service was overwhelmed.
    But the client’s own recruiting efforts had not produced the quality of staff they required. Understaffed and under pressure, they turned to Staffworks for a solution.

    Result

    Within three days, the Staffworks Recruitment team interviewed and presented a dozen qualified candidate profiles. Four employees were hired on a permanent basis, exceeding the client’s goal for the first round of hiring.
    Four more employees were hired less than a month later.

    This Alberta-based safety and compliance specialist needed a permanent sales coordinator to support sales activity nation-wide. Within 48 hours, Staffworks:

    Our new client was initiating a large-scale digitization project. This demanded a reliable and detail-oriented team to populate 1000s of paper records into their database – while maintaining data integrity and confidentiality.

    Result
    The client quickly engaged multiple temporary employees from the candidates we proposed. Despite recruitment, hiring, and onboarding occurring during a full lockdown, the project began on time, fully staffed. To date, this team has a 100% retention rate, with many being transitioned to the client’s permanent payroll. Within weeks of first hire,  an additional 6 temporary staff members were brought on to tackle other outstanding projects.

    The Challenge

    This national retailer was implementing enterprise software that involved transitioning a payroll of thousands of employees over all ten provinces.
    The requirement was immediate. The ideal candidate needed a strong knowledge of payroll processes and requirements across Canada, as well as the technical skills required to lead this technology transition.

    Result
    This position was essential to the implementation of the enterprise software. Not only did the implementation go well, within 6 months the employee happily accepted a permanent employment offer.
